Conflict Seminar:
This required series of lectures and site visits will examine
the history of conflict in the Balkans, the disintegration of
Yugoslavia, the role of foreign intervention, the Dayton Peace
Accord and its aftermath, political and economic transformation,
and the experience of conflict management in the Balkans. The
seminar is based at the
Faculty of Social Sciences of the
University of Ljubljana. Lecturers include members of this
faculty as well as guest lecturers with expertise in relevant
fields. This seminar includes a
Study Tour to past conflict flashpoints in
former Yugoslavia.
(3 US credits/6 ECTS)
United Nations short course on Peacekeeping
in the Former Yugoslavia:
take part in this option designed to present a UN
perspective regarding military and political efforts to bring
peace to the Former Yugoslavia during
1995-1999. Successful participants will be awarded UN
certificates.
United Nations short course on Global
Terrorism:
take part in this option
designed to present students UN perspective regarding the
complex topic of global terrorism. Successful participants will be awarded UN
certificates.
