Bogi Grajkowska

Bogi is originally from Poland, and her interest in international education began during her university years in Gdańsk, where supporting Erasmus students sparked a lasting passion for cultural exchange and student mobility. After graduating, she set out to explore Europe, eventually spending several months in Spain. She quickly fell in love with the culture and lifestyle and decided to make Barcelona her permanent home. Drawn to the city’s international character, she has now lived in the area for over ten years and still enjoys exploring the city and its surroundings and sharing new discoveries and local insights with students. Beyond her daily work, Bogi has a strong interest in psychology and youth work and collaborates on nonprofit initiatives and international projects that support young people’s growth.

What do you hope every student gains from studying abroad?

“That they build lasting friendships and collect stories that reshape how they see the world. Studying abroad is not just about discovering a new place, but about getting new perspectives. Most of all, I hope they return home with a clearer sense of who they are and who they want to become.”

What’s a cultural experience abroad that surprised you?

“I was truly impressed by the scale and spirit of Barcelona’s neighborhood festivals, where entire streets transform and generations celebrate side by side. Seeing young people actively involved in long-standing traditions showed me that culture here isn’t just preserved — it’s lived. I always encourage students to experience these festivals, talk to locals, and travel to explore other Spain’s rich regional celebrations”

Favorite quote?

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” - Mark Twain
