Helena, born and raised in Barcelona, has an innate vocation for teaching and cultural exchange. She lived in Belfast, Northern Ireland, for three years, an experience that deepened her understanding of the challenges and joys of adapting to a new culture. As a teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language, Helena combines her passion for art and travel to create a bridge between the language and the local culture for her students.

In her current role, Helena leads the wellness department for both the team and the students, ensuring a healthy and balanced environment for learning. Her focus is on human interaction and emotional support, pillars she considers fundamental to a transformative educational experience. She enjoys the beach, planning new adventures, and spending time with friends at BBQs, always seeking ways to enrich the stay of those who choose Barcelona as their temporary home.

What inspired you to work in international education?
“My three years in Belfast were a turning point. I realized that learning a language isn't just about grammar; it's about navigating a new world. Coming back to Barcelona, I wanted to be the person who helps others bridge that gap, making the transition not just easier, but truly meaningful.”
What’s the most rewarding part of your role?
“Creating a safe space. When a student feels seen and supported, they are much more open to the challenges of a new culture. Knowing I’ve contributed to their mental and emotional well-being while they explore my home city is incredibly fulfilling.”
